Vape Filters: an alternative to conventional drip tips

Vape filters are mouthpieces designed to replace or complement the rigid drip tip used on selected compatible pod systems. Usually made from cotton fibres or other soft materials, they provide a different mouthfeel from conventional plastic, resin or metal mouthpieces.

These accessories are primarily associated with MTL electronic cigarettes. Several manufacturers have developed dedicated filter systems, including KIWI Vapor, selected Vilter devices and certain Wenax platforms. Compatibility should always be checked for the exact device.

Cotton filters for a softer mouthfeel

A cotton filter provides a soft and slightly absorbent surface against the lips. It changes the physical sensation of the mouthpiece without altering the fundamental electronic operation of the pod or the cartridge resistance.

On compatible devices, the filter generally fits directly onto the cartridge or into a dedicated holder. It can therefore replace a conventional drip tip while using the same pod and e-liquid.

This design is particularly suited to MTL devices, where restricted airflow and compact mouthpieces are commonly used.

KIWI, Vilter, Wenax and different filter systems

Vape filters are not universal. KIWI Vapor filters are designed for compatible devices from the brand and can differ significantly in dimensions from filters used by Vilter or Wenax systems.

Some ranges also provide several filter variants with different textures, designs or decorative patterns.

Always check the exact pod name and filter reference before ordering to avoid compatibility issues.

Why use a filter on a pod system?

The main advantage of a filter is the different sensation it provides at the lips. Its soft fibrous texture is noticeably different from a rigid mouthpiece.

A filter can also absorb a limited amount of condensation that may collect near the mouthpiece during use. It should nevertheless be replaced regularly to maintain clean and comfortable use.

Using a filter does not fundamentally change pod performance. Output, resistance, vapour production and inhalation style remain primarily determined by the device and cartridge.

When should a vape filter be replaced?

A filter should be replaced when it becomes wet, deformed, heavily discoloured or less comfortable to use. Service life depends on vaping frequency, condensation and individual usage habits.

Fresh filters generally retain their shape and provide a cleaner mouthfeel. Keeping several replacements available makes regular changes easier.

Filters are consumable accessories and are not designed to last as long as the cartridge or rechargeable device.

Cotton filter or conventional drip tip?

The choice depends largely on personal preference and device compatibility. A rigid drip tip is easy to clean and can be reused for a long period, while a cotton filter provides a softer sensation but requires regular replacement.

Some pod systems allow users to alternate between both options, providing additional flexibility.

Vaping performance remains primarily determined by the cartridge and coil. The mouthpiece mainly affects comfort and the way the draw feels at the lips.

How to choose compatible vape filters

Compatibility is the most important consideration. Each manufacturer may use a different diameter, length or mounting system, so a filter designed for KIWI Vapor should not automatically be assumed to fit another brand.

Check the exact electronic cigarette model, device generation and filter reference. Where several variants exist, selection can then be based on texture, design or pack size.

Unused filters should preferably remain in their packaging to protect them from dust and moisture.
