The new Swiss law on e-liquids and e-cigarettes will come into force on 1 October 2024.

Dear customers,

From October 1, 2024, new regulations on e-liquids containing nicotine and on electronic cigarettes will be introduced in Switzerland. The aim of these provisions, which are similar to those applied in other European countries, is to strengthen public health protection, particularly for young people, and to regulate the use of products containing nicotine.

We would like to assure you that we have taken all the necessary steps to adapt to these new rules and that we are ready to offer you, as usual, a quality service. We will keep you informed of the details of these changes and will always be there to answer your questions.

Here are the main changes concerning nicotined e-liquids:

There will be no more e-liquids nicotined by us, there will be a new process, but nothing rocket science!

With 50ml e-liquids, you'll need to use nicotine boosters, but you won't be able to have a nicotine level higher than 6mg.

For nicotine levels above 6mg, you'll need to use 10ml e-liquids that have already been nicotined by the manufacturers.

There will be fewer nicotine levels available, with traditional nicotine you can have e-liquids in 3mg, 6mg, 9mg or 12mg and with nicotine salts you can have e-liquids in 10mg or 20mg.

Here's how it works:

Traditional nicotine

For people who vapourise with 3mg or 6mg of nicotine, you can take 50ml e-liquids:

If you want your e-liquid with 3mg of nicotine, just add 1 nicotine booster.

If you want 6mg of nicotine, you need to add 2 nicotine boosters.

Above 6mg, there's no need to add boosters !

All you need to do is take the 10ml bottles already nicotined by the manufacturers.

For example, if you want 50ml of e-liquid with 9mg of nicotine, you'll need 5 x 10ml bottles already nicotined at 9mg.

Nicotine salts:

For vapers who prefer nicotine salts, we offer 10ml e-liquids already nicotined by the manufacturers in 10mg or 20mg.

Until 1 October, we'll be carrying on as before, so a word of advice to vapers who vape with more than 6mg of nicotine:

STOCK UP BEFORE THE END OF SEPTEMBER !

Here's the rest of the new regulations:

New taxation on nicotine-containing E-liquids:

From October 1, a tax of CHF 0.20 per millilitre will apply to all e-liquids containing nicotine, regardless of their concentration. For single-use products, such as disposable e-cigarettes, the tax will be CHF 1 per millilitre, with or without nicotine. These taxes have been introduced to reduce nicotine consumption and encourage healthier consumption choices.

Limits on nicotine concentration and bottle size:

E-liquids containing nicotine will now not be able to exceed a concentration of 20mg/ml, and bottles will be limited to 10ml. In addition, disposable e-cigarettes and pre-filled pod systems will be restricted to a maximum of 2ml of liquid, in line with EU standards.

Limiting the age of sale:

The sale of electronic cigarettes and e-liquids containing nicotine will be strictly restricted to people aged 18 and over. We have already applied this restriction since our inception to protect young people from access to these products. Age checks will also be stepped up at both physical and online sales outlets.

Vaping in public places:

It will be forbidden to smoke in enclosed public places, as is the case for tobacco. However, special areas (ventilated vaping rooms) will be set up in our shops, so that you can continue to test our e-liquids.

Mandatory labelling and warnings:

Vape products will have to carry reinforced health warnings and compulsory notices in the three official languages (German, French and Italian). These labels will highlight the risks associated with nicotine consumption, similar to those found on cigarette packets, while acknowledging that vape is a less harmful alternative to traditional tobacco.

Advertising restrictions:

Advertising for electronic cigarettes and e-liquids containing nicotine will now be restricted. It will be banned in places accessible to minors and on platforms that may be consulted by young people.

Notification of new products

Before any new product containing nicotine is placed on the market, prior notification to the Swiss authorities will be required, guaranteeing stricter control and greater transparency.

Don't worry, we've already taken all the necessary steps to comply with these new regulations.

We remain fully committed to providing you with the best terms, service and advice.

Our main priority is to continue to support and assist you with the same level of quality and care.
